One of the country's most admired banks, its objective is to provide
its target market customers a full range of financial products and
banking services, giving the customer a one-stop window for all
his/her banking requirements. The products are backed by world-class
service and delivered to the customers through the growing branch
network, as well as through alternative delivery channels like ATMs,
Phone Banking, NetBanking and MobileBanking. It is a performance
driven meritocracy, with an open work culture. The bank has
consistently, year on year, been awarded for its various innovations.
It invests heavily in technology and people, and has pioneered data
led Analytical marketing in India and already drives over 700
Analytical campaigns per year. The bank's strategy is to scale up
Analytical marketing and thereby build a strategic differentiation in
the marketplace. The bank also intends to drive differentiation by
building on Event triggered marketing capability.
To lead these initiatives, it is looking for a VP - Analytics
Marketing, from a similar background, preferably from the financial
services industry, with hands on expertise. This is a key position,
responsible for using Analytics to refine databases, deliver higher
ROI and greatly enhance its understanding of customer behavior. The
entire team of Campaign heads and Campaign managers reports in to this
individual.

Position description:

This is a really key position, responsible for using analytics to
refine databases, deliver higher ROI and greatly enhance the bank's
understanding of customer behavior. This is a strategic area for the
bank and will help the bank to move from a mass marketing paradigm
based on subjective intelligence to a direct marketing paradigm based
on customer intelligence generated through data analytics. Strategic
cross selling-to create an Analytics based Cross & Up sell framework.
Drive structured Campaign testing to create data led customer
frameworks.Monitor and drive operational change management to support
Analytical marketing in close collaboration with Head- Marketing.
Drive significant scale up of Campaign velocity to enable Analytical
marketing in making Business impact. Strategically move towards Event
Triggered Marketing capability-align technology and business focus
towards this objective. Owns the Campaign P&L, responsible for
campaign planning & financial ROI. Final delivery consists of agreed
incremental benefit delivered through Campaigns.
Responsible for delivering the planned Campaign calendar as per
agreement with business Must provide strategic direction to evolve the
Data warehouse in line with business objectives. Close integration
with the Customer Intelligence team to provide business feedback and
direction for the Analytical team.Offer insight and recommendations to
the Senior Campaign managers on how to maximize the campaign's
objectives through the use of application functionality (e.g., deeper
segmentation, use of last minute suppressions/exclusions, models, etc)

Hiring Profile:

Proven expertise in the field of analytics in general. Minimum 12-14
years total experience(post MBA). At least 5 years as a team leader.
Experience in Financial services, Telecom, Business consulting, Market
research, BPO/KPO or Direct marketing industries. Must have the
ingenuity to come up with unique ways to segment, analyze, and report
ad-hoc data requests. Must have worked in an analytics team requiring
extensive interaction with multiple, and sometimes competing, internal
departments. Excellent ability to multi-task is essential. Must have
potential to lead analytics team. Hands-on experience of working on
banking / retail projects (internally or externally). Work experience
in a bank / retail financial institution. Superior communication,
presentation and influencing skills. High energy, with ability to
stretch.
